My photographic showcase 2026

Deep red rose blooms at the San Jose Rose Garden.  This was one of my four and five-star images for 2017.  I like the muted, dark, moody atmosphere of the rose.

Now that I have my entire photo collection updated in Lightroom catalogs, I decided to have a little fun in going through my older images.  

Orange apricots at the Sunnyvale Farmer's Market in downtown Sunnyvale. Every Saturday, Sunnyvale showcases their Farmer’s Market, just outside of Murphy Square. Eliz and I have never been to the Sunnyvale Farmer’s Market, so we decided to take a look.

Saturday Shootout!  Canon 40D camera on the left and Nikon D80 camera on the right.  Both cameras have their 18-55mm kit lenses attached.  Which camera is better?

Saturday Shootout Tamron 28-300mm f3.5-6.3 superzoom lenses!  This shootout pits the older XR DI LD lens, on the left, with the DI VC PZD lens, on the right.

Introducing the Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD Lens for the Canon EOS DSLR camera.  This is a superzoom lens that my friend Mary, a retired wedding photographer, has recommended.

A combination of health issues and just burnout had me step away from photography for the last half of 2025.   For getting back into photography in 2026, I decided to go old school and purchase a Canon 5D Classic 12.7 megapixel DSLR camera.  This is a 21-year-old full frame DSLR camera.
